Neville advises Van Nistelrooy to change Man Utd defensive game plan against Leicester

  • Gary Neville has advised Ruud van Nistelrooy to switch to a three-man backline to solve his defensive problems.
  • Van Nistelrooy has appoint as Manchester United’s caretaker manager following the sacking of Erik ten Hag.
  • Neville believes full-backs Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazrawi will be better off without having to rely on him as much in defence.

Gary Neville has advised Ruud van Nistelrooy to switch to a three-man backline to solve his defensive problems.

“He can organise the team differently, it’s up to him how he manages the team. But we know he’s been on the bench alongside Erik ten Hag in the first period so I don’t expect anything drastic in the next games,” Neville

“I believe that eventually there will need to significant change in how we work with these players because they are struggling and need a change.”

“In my opinion, I have thought for months that, looking at United’s players.

They would be better suited to a back three. Because ยูฟ่าเบท they haven’t found a good centre-back pairing and full-backs are more comfortable in attack than in defence.”

“Maybe that will make them feel a little bit more comfortable. Because it will give them an extra player in defence. They will have more support from the set-up in front of goal.”

“That’s what I’ve thinking for months. I’m not sure if that’s the right way to go. We’ll have to see on Wednesday against Leicester whether he agrees with. What Eric has done or if he’s going to change the team.”

Van Nistelrooy has appoint as Manchester United caretaker manager following the sacking of Erik ten Hag on Monday.

Neville believes a back three would strengthen United’s defence. Believes full-backs Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazrawi would better off without having to play as much defensively.
